Meet Dr. Steven Bounds
Dr. Steven Bounds has dedicated more than 26 years to the specialty of periodontology and implant surgery. Inspired early on by his father’s 35-year career as a general dentist, Dr. Bounds pursued advanced training beyond dental school, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University before completing his Certificate of Specialization in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Oral Biology at The Ohio State University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bounds has focused exclusively on the supporting structures of the teeth—bone and gum tissue. He has published in respected dental journals and remains active in professional organizations such as the ADA, CDA, OCDS, CSP, and AO. His philosophy is simple: if we do what’s right and in the best interest of the patient, everything else will fall into place. Treatment recommendations are always guided by long-term oral health and stability—not insurance limitations.
A team dedicated to calm, organized, and patient-focused care
At Bounds Periodontics + Dental Implants, our team works together to create a clean, friendly, and relaxed environment. We understand that many patients feel nervous about surgical procedures or are unsure why they were referred. From your first phone call to your post-operative visits, our goal is to provide clarity and reassurance every step of the way.
Our office is designed to feel professional yet comfortable. Amenities such as blankets, TVs, and nitrous oxide are available to support your comfort. For patients who need additional support during longer procedures, we coordinate conscious sedation with a dedicated anesthesiologist, allowing Dr. Bounds to focus fully on surgical precision while your comfort is carefully monitored.
Focused expertise in periodontal and implant treatment
At Bounds Periodontics + Dental Implants, we focus exclusively on periodontal therapy and implant surgery. From treating moderate to advanced gum disease to performing LANAP laser therapy, soft-tissue grafting, bone grafting, and dental implant placement, our treatments are designed to create stable, maintainable outcomes.
Many patients come to us not fully understanding what a periodontist does. Our role is to evaluate bone levels, gum health, and long-term risks, then provide clear recommendations tailored to your specific condition. Whether you are seeking care on your own or were referred by your general dentist, you can expect thoughtful planning and specialty-level expertise.
